A través del registro fotográfico realizado por Guillermo Aldana a mediados de los años setenta del siglo XX, se devela el mundo mágico de los coras y huicholes, en particular de la festividad de la semana santa. En su momento algunas de estas imágenes fueron publicadas en National Geographic, conviertiendo a Aldana en el primer fotógrafo mexicano publicado por esta revista. Muchas de las imágenes que componen este libro ven por primera vez la luz.
